For a long time, our life together ran on spreadsheets and calendar alerts. We were partners, yes, but we were also two ambitious people running on parallel tracks. We were building successful careers, but we weren’t really building a life. Our kitchen was just a place to efficiently refuel before the next meeting or deadline. The most creative thing we made was a five-year financial plan.
Hello, I’m Lena, I’m 28. My partner in this delicious enterprise is my husband, Noah, who is 30. Welcome to Epicure Empire, the blueprint for the life we decided to build, one recipe at a time.
A few years ago, we realized we were great at optimizing everything except our own happiness. We were burnt out and disconnected. So, we decided to launch a new kind of project, one with a single goal: to find our way back to each other. We chose the kitchen as our headquarters. There was only one rule: we had to do it all together.
At first, we treated it like a work project. Noah, the strategist, would map out a multi-course meal like a business plan. I, the operator, would break down every step, every ingredient, every technique on our tablet. We were planning, researching, and executing.
Why “Epicure Empire”?
The name started as a joke. We called our little weekend cooking project our “Epicure Empire,” a tiny kingdom of flavor we were building just for us. But the name stuck, because it’s exactly what this has become. It’s not just about food. It’s about consciously building a shared world, a legacy of moments, flavors, and skills that belong to us.
