  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to your slow cooker.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and diced green chilies.
  5. Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
