Ingredients
Scale
1 pound linguine
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Cook linguine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Pour in white wine and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute.
Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the shrimp. Toss to combine.
Add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until the sauce coats the pasta.
Stir in chopped parsley. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream.
If you don’t have white wine, you can use chicken or vegetable broth.
