Make this simple sheet pan meal featuring shrimp and broccoli coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. It cooks quickly for an easy weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using. This is your garlic butter sauce.
  3. Place the broccoli florets on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle half of the garlic butter sauce over the broccoli and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the shrimp in a single layer on the other side of the baking sheet. Pour the remaining garlic butter sauce over the shrimp and toss lightly.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Roast for 10 to 12 minutes. The broccoli should be tender-crisp, and the shrimp should be pink and opaque throughout. Do not overcook the shrimp.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven. Drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and broccoli. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  7. Serve immediately directly from the pan or transfer to plates.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure your shrimp are completely thawed and patted dry before tossing with the sauce. Excess moisture prevents proper browning.
  • If you prefer softer broccoli, you can toss it with the shrimp for the last 5 minutes of cooking instead of starting it first.
  • This recipe pairs well with cooked rice or quinoa to make it a complete meal.
