Make this creamy, cheesy garlic parmesan chicken bake for a simple weeknight dinner. It uses few ingredients and bakes up perfectly in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth. This creates your creamy garlic chicken sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure they are well coated.
  5. If using, sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the sauce for a slight crust.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Let the cheesy garlic parmesan chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake option, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer darker meat.
  • Leftovers reheat nicely for lunch the next day.
