Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
Spoon half of the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
While the salmon bakes, prepare the sauce. Heat the olive oil in the same small saucepan over medium heat.
Pour in the fresh lemon juice and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Remove the pan from the heat. Whisk in the remaining garlic butter mixture until fully combined and slightly thickened.
Remove the salmon from the oven. Drizzle the lemon garlic pan sauce over each fillet.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For crispier skin, sear the salmon skin-side down in an oven-safe skillet on the stovetop for 3 minutes before transferring the skillet to the oven to finish baking.
You can substitute dried parsley for fresh, using 1 teaspoon.
