Make a simple, flavorful, and creamy egg salad perfect for sandwiches, meal prep, or picnics using hard-boiled eggs and essential seasonings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop the peeled hard-boiled eggs. Place them in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice to the bowl with the eggs.
  3. Stir gently until the mixture is mostly combined but still has some texture. Do not overmix.
  4. Fold in the chopped celery, fresh dill (if using), salt, and pepper.
  5. Taste the salad and adjust salt or mustard as needed for your preference.
  6. Chill the egg salad for at least 15 minutes before serving for the best flavor.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, substitute 1 tablespoon of sweet pickle relish for the dill.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, mash some of the eggs against the side of the bowl with a fork before mixing.
  • This salad keeps well in the refrigerator for up to four days when stored in an airtight container.
