A recipe for an ultra-thick, high-protein smoothie bowl featuring a strong vanilla flavor, perfect for a quick breakfast or post-workout meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (start with less)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Optional: 1/4 small avocado for extra creaminess

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen banana, Greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract, chia seeds, and avocado (if using) into a high-powered blender.
  2. Add only 1/4 cup of almond milk to start. The goal is to use the minimum liquid possible for a thick texture.
  3. Blend on low speed, using the tamper tool constantly to push the ingredients down toward the blades. Do not add more liquid unless the blender completely stops moving.
  4. Continue blending and tamping until the mixture is smooth and resembles soft-serve ice cream.
  5. Scoop the thick mixture into a bowl immediately.
  6. Add your desired toppings, such as fresh berries, granola, or sliced nuts.

Notes

  • For the thickest result, freeze your banana slices overnight on a baking sheet before blending.
  • If you prefer a lower sugar option, substitute the banana with 1 cup of frozen cauliflower florets and add 1-2 drops of liquid stevia or monk fruit sweetener.
  • To make this recipe ahead, prepare the base and store it in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 hours before serving.
