Prepare a rich and flavorful baked casserole featuring tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and bold Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta, cooked al dente
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for one minute until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in the flour and cook for one minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in the whole milk until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Remove the sauce from the heat. Stir in the cooked, shredded chicken and the cooked fettuccine until everything is evenly coated.
  8. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese topping is golden brown.
  10. Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use a blend of Parmesan and Gruyère cheese in the sauce.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let the milk simmer slightly longer before adding the cream.
  • Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to control the level of spice in your dish.
