Ingredients
Scale
1 (15 ounce) can chili (no beans recommended)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
Combine the canned chili and softened cream cheese in a medium saucepan or a small slow cooker insert.
Heat over medium-low heat on the stovetop, stirring frequently until the cream cheese is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and combined. If using a slow cooker, heat on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until smooth.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it melts fully into the dip, creating a creamy texture.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks for dipping.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a high-quality chili. You can use chili with beans if you prefer, but the texture will change slightly.
If you want a thinner dip, add one or two tablespoons of milk or heavy cream while stirring in the cheddar cheese.
To keep this dip warm during a party, transfer it to a small slow cooker set to the ‘Keep Warm’ setting.
