Ingredients
Scale
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
Stir in half (1/2 cup) of the shredded cheddar cheese into the chicken mixture. Spread this mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Open the can of biscuit dough. Cut each biscuit into quarters. Drop the biscuit pieces randomly over the top of the chicken mixture, creating the ‘bubble’ effect.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can use rotisserie chicken to save preparation time.
For a make-ahead option, assemble the casserole completely, cover it, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Add 10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.
If you prefer a thinner sauce, add an extra 1/4 cup of milk to the base mixture.
