Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and butter in a large bowl. Beat them together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to the bowl. Mix on low speed until just combined.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt. Beat the mixture until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk while mixing on low speed until the dip reaches a smooth, thick consistency.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips using a spatula.
  6. Serve immediately with graham crackers, pretzels, or fruit, or chill for 30 minutes for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • To make this dip safe, you must use pasteurized milk and ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute 2 tablespoons of the milk with strong brewed coffee.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
