Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Apple Cider
  • 0.5 oz Orange Liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 0.5 oz Agave Nectar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • Salt or Sugar for rimming the glass (optional)
  • Apple slice or lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  1. If desired, rim your margarita glass with salt or sugar. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a shallow plate of salt or sugar.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add tequila, lime juice, apple cider, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (if using) to the shaker.
  4. Secure the lid and shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  5. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with an apple slice or lime wedge.

Notes

  • For a less sweet drink, omit the agave nectar or reduce the amount.
  • Experiment with different types of apple cider to find your favorite flavor profile.
  • If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can stir the ingredients together in a glass with ice.
