Achieve perfectly crispy skin and juicy, flaky flesh with this simple garlic butter air fryer salmon recipe. It is a quick, healthy meal ready in under 15 minutes, ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step is key for crispy skin.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic. Set aside.
  3. In another small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley.
  4. Brush the tops and sides of the salmon fillets lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over the salmon.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
  7. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  8. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the melted garlic butter mixture over the top of each fillet.
  9. Remove the salmon from the air fryer. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For the crispiest skin, place the salmon skin-side down in the air fryer basket.
  • If your fillets are very thick (over 1.5 inches), you may need to cook for an extra 2-3 minutes. Check for doneness at 10 minutes.
  • This recipe works well for low carb diets and is a great source of healthy fats.
